CoC uses the retail game mechanics and is designed be a test bed for add ons so while it can be played by itself it really comes to life when you go into the massive library of add ons and dress it up the way you want itĪnomaly uses a much more elaborate system of game mechanics that some refer to as 'Post Misery' mechanics that expands on how artifacts are handled, how repairs to weapons and armor are done, and allows for crafting of many items including upgrades for weapons and armor, medical items, ammo and tech items that can be used in place of artifacts to give bonuses.Anomaly also comes with a vast array of adjustable options and setting that allow you to customize the gameplay to exactly the style you wantĭead Air is on the surface similar to Anomaly in that it too uses the Post Misery mechanics but just slightly simpler.however unlike Anomaly Dead Air was not designed to be even remotely fair to the player, it was build from the ground up to be as difficult and unforgiving as possible. formula was wearing thin by the time Call of Pripyat was released but this Misery 2.0 mod has me interested in giving the game another shot.
